Nature's Approved® Organic 100% Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is produced on a remote Pacific island in FIJI, where both water and air are pure and unpolluted. Made from certified organic coconuts, this oil is cold-pressed, contains no chemicals in extraction and is non-GMO. The 'green technology' used to process our coconut oil in FIJI takes advantage of reusable fuel, a benefit to our environment (see below for full story on our 'green processing'). Because Nature's Approved® Organic 100% Extra Virgin Coconut oil is not refined bleached or deodorized (RBD), it retains pure and natural coconut components, including the medium chain fatty acids and the 50% lauric acid now recognized as highly beneficial to health. Processing is from expeller pressing the chopped and dried coconut meat. Production supplies from this certified producer are exclusively for Assured Organics distribution. It is important to know that our oil is not fermented, a process that impairs the healing ability of the oil.

Dr Mary Enig and Dr Bruce Fife and have gathered research and studies from recent years to show the benefits of consuming medium chain triglycerides (MCT) acids such as are found in virgin coconut oil. They report reduced levels of viruses and of bacteria in tests done patients using coconut oil in its unrefined state.
A recent article in Women's World drew on parts of these and highlighted the propensity of these fatty acids to stimulate the thyroid gland and thus raise the metabolic rate. Examples were given of comfortably achieved large weight losses. A faster metabolic rate will lead to a weight loss . We crave fat, and diets that deny us fat leave us unsatisfied and vulnerable to rapid weight gain after the diet is over.
Virgin Coconut oil with its medium chain fatty acids are unlike other "saturated" fats as the body handles them differently and they are rapidly absorbed into the blood stream.
Recently assembled scientific studies See Dr Mary Enig's "Know Your Fats" show that virgin (unrefined and non-hydrogenated) coconut oil has anti-bacterial and anti-viral and anti-proteozoal properties leading to many identified health benefits. Monolauric acid is a natural major component of mother's milk and strengthens the immune system.
